Cookie Policy
This page lists every cookie valueallies.com uses, what each one does and how to control them. The list is short on purpose: this is a business website, not an advertising platform, and we run no advertising or re‑targeting trackers at all.
01What we use, and how you choose
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store, so it can remember something between pages or visits. Similar technologies such as local storage do the same job and are covered here too.
Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically, because the site cannot work without them and the law does not require consent for them. Analytics cookies are set only if you agree. You can change your mind at any time, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it:
The same Cookie Settings link sits in the footer of every page.
02The cookies we set
| Name | Category | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
va_cookie_consent | Necessary | valueallies.com | Records your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every page | 12 months |
wordpress_test_cookie | Necessary | valueallies.com | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies | Session |
wordpress_logged_in_*, wp-settings-* | Necessary | valueallies.com | Set only for signed-in site administrators. Not set for ordinary visitors | Session to 12 months |
_ga, _ga_* | Analytics | Google Analytics | Tells one visitor from another and keeps the analytics session state, so we can see which pages are read | Up to 24 months |
Google acts as our analytics provider; its handling of this data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy. We have IP anonymisation enabled and we never use analytics data for advertising.
03One thing that is not a cookie
Google Fonts
This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. No cookie is involved, but your browser does make a request to a Google server, which receives your IP address and basic browser information. We flag it because it is still a transfer of data to a third party. You can block third-party resources in your browser if you would rather it did not happen, and we intend to serve these fonts from our own domain in a future release, which removes the transfer entirely.
Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs. Those are not cookies either, and they are described in our Privacy Statement.
04Controlling cookies in your browser
Besides our Cookie Settings panel, every major browser lets you see stored cookies, delete them and block them in future — usually under Privacy or Security. Blocking all cookies will stop parts of most websites working properly. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser add-on.
05Changes and contact
We review this policy whenever we change the technologies on the site, and at least once a year. The version and date at the top tell you which version you are reading, and if we add a new category of cookie we will ask for your consent again.
